Will LR contact me for a car recall or I should call them?

More and more information shows that my 2015 Diesel SDV6 D4 may be included in the crankshaft issue recall case. I have no idea if the LR or its dealer will contact me or I should contact them for the recall if it happens ---- If I should do the first, who I can contact? Any Discovery owner here knows the recall procedures? Very appreciated!

Don't confuse a recall with a Technical Service Bulletin, which has little/no legal compulsion on the manufacturer outside of warranty.

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You may be thinking of the Service bulletin from 2014

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic111733.html

To be clear, there has never been a recall for Disco3/4 crankshafts in the UK

I didn’t think there was anything preventative that could be done re crank failures, apart from fit a new engine at every other service. Whistle

There is no recall for the crank issue LR will deal with it on a case by case basis as it happens . There was no point having a recall as there was no fix for it .
Hopefully for you it wont go in the first instance, after that you will need a full JLR service history then its down to how they feel on the day . They have recently been a bit more forthcoming with goodwill however I cannot overstress how important it is to have a dealer who is helpfull as some are not! It can make several thousand difference in the outcome for you . What ever you do dont start off by threatening legal action as with a vehicle out of manufacturers warranty you rely on goodwill they dont have to do anything and wont.
