^Competition against the higher priced RRS and FFRR, which made more profit for LR, would be one reason I'd guess. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Quite. The V8 had 6 speed, the SCV6 had 8 speed.

If you’re buying, do remember to budget for new timing chain tensioners and guides (and potentially other stuff since you’ve got the engine open)….

Alas I'm stuck in limbo land at the moment with both the Defender and BMW still waiting to be built. One will stay, the other I cant justify keeping so looking for a motor for the dogs.

Tempted at 25k but it went for £32,750 + 6% = not a lot of change out of £35k

Funny how LR can't build an engine that doesn't have major issues. Although saying that I never had a single problem (other than a cracked thermostat housing) with my LR3 V8, which was probably the best LR3 or 4 or Disco 3 or 4 I've owned.
I have a last 1000 model 2016 LR4 Landmark with the V6 that's great, but I know I have to address the $2-3K stripdown of the engine to replace the two $40 front and rear coolant crossover pipes that rot out. For 6 months I've been toying with the idea of doing it myself vs paying an indy. Still haven't decided. PAGODA

Lol @ Moo. I was walking the dogs and viewing the auction on the phone. Working out 6% and a set of tyres to replace the winter ones and it was all getting expensive.
I decided that I'll rather have a XC70 or XC90 as a dog car. Few V8 XC90s around but I still cant get to grips of paying £600 a year VED and I don't fancy traveling up North
