Disco4 SDV6 engine drone at Motorway Speeds |
|
Our D4 seems to run very smoothly, low fuel consumption etc but at higher speeds there is quite a bit of engine drone, is this normal ie 80 mph?

Change trims if they are old and faded. When they are not tight to the body they resonate for sure
https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/windscre...2540-c.asp
If they look good, just change the fixings (same page).
Note the new trims come with all the clips so do not buy extras if you go down that route.
The clips get tired, especially if you have a screen change and the fitter has yanked them off. I lost a complete side once on a motorway, just flew clean off in the outside lane
Go for a drive without them fitted if you intend to 'service' them anyway.

In fact its impossible to remove the existing A pillar covers, without snapping the top lug, so best just to order new covers. I plan to paint mine body colour but its that type of plastic which resists paint and so might have to sand them first?
