Have had many cars with Paddle shift, so hopefully understand the use of them, especially useful when towing etc..
So, with the Discovery 4, should you be able to be at a standstill in D, then pull the right hand paddle shift to engage 1st or 2nd ? Think ours is playing up, it wont do this, but also is intermittent when driving. Selecting down shift paddle is fine, it is just the upshift that is problematic.
Just wanted to double check how it should work, pretty sure ours has a problem. D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black

The gb is adaptive, in other words it will not allow you to do something that is not suitable or detrimental for the gb or vehicle like starting off in second gear, if you need to start off in second choose the snow setting. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I guess i just wanted to know, if when at a standstill. If the "up" paddle is pulled, should it go into manual mode and into gear 1 ? I am pretty sure the up paddle is not working correctly. D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black

If you pull the + paddle when stationary it should show D2 and if you pull the - paddle it should change to D1. When stationary pulling the + paddle will only let you select D1 or D2 if you try for D3 it will revert back to D2.
At least that's what mine does and the ones we had at work did.

Thankyou.
It does look like we have an issue then. The UP paddle doesn't work, or at best is intermittent, downshift Paddle is fine. Will get it looked at. D4 HSE Lux. my 2015 . Mariana Black
