Love the wording "taken from a 2021 Defender 2" - do they know that they've been taken ? or are the bricks it's sitting on the big clue ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Ive been offered a set for £350, they have Michelin Latitude M&S tyres on them with about 6.5mm tread. I am not sure what to do, I am tempted. I would be painting them black if I got them.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

I found myself thinking “hmmmm, tempting” before I remembered I didn’t have D3/4 to put them on.

Wasn't someone looking for a set of Wranglers on here the other day ? Great price for the tyres alone... and a set of rims thrown in that are saleable on here I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Those wheels are rare as hen’s teeth here. Hardly any LR Dealers order the base Defender, and the few that do upgrade the wheels. I’ve only seen one set of the base wheels for sale locally and I was second in line ($1000 for 5 with the off road tire). A very good deal, especially considering I needed new tires anyway.
I’ve only seen a couple other sets for sale in the US, well north of $1200 not including tires.2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

Well for $750 it would be worth putting in a bid and then getting them delivered to some nice local forum member who could ask Big Dave the courier to ship them to the US for you ?
Sounds like a plan to me I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Ha! Now that I have shod my 19” wheels with new AT tires I am reserving all remaining funds for future repairs.
I do think they look great on the Discovery 3 and 4, so I do keep an eye out for a local fire sale…2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

Seem to be a different tyre size from standard Disco 4. Is that an issue?
Is there a problem going from 111V to an H rated tyre?

At that price, I think I'd be definitely taking them, like you say, paint them black.
worth a think, if you dont like them I'm sure they'll sell no bother

111 is the load rating and fine for a Disco… as regards the speed rating V tyres are rated to 149mph… H tyres are rated to 130mph … if you are doing anything close to those speeds in your Disco then I think the tyres would be the least of your concerns ! beware that the tyre and its range in speed and load index is not the problem. The problem is the rim, would be that Discovery 3, from factory, have been rated at 940kg per rim. While it is physically possible to fit wheels from the Defender, Range Rover Sport and some later FFRR wheels, it should be noted that this rims are rated for a lower weight…so the tyre not is the problem . I'm afraid!!lost in translation!
