Duratrac or Avon AX7 or ? |
|
I'd be grateful if anyone who has run both the above could give me their views.
Most my mileage is motorway. I value wet grip. Off road is important and I'm especially interested in which is better in snow or mud.
Currently I have Duratracs which I've had for 6 years and I guess about 40K+ miles. Were superb in mud and deep snow, noisy, mpg not that good but now scrabble for grip especially in snow.
Or the alternatives?
I don't want to go much over £150 each.
Many thanks.

I had some AX7 and thought they were great. I've run Duratracs, AT2, GGAT3 and thought the AX7 were pretty impressive.
I posted about them on here yonks ago.

Sorry, no idea. I sold the car in December 2020 and bought the XC90. I can tell you that I need new tyres on the Volvo though after 18,000 miles. If I can AX7 in the right size I'm tempted to put them on. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

I think you will find Duratracs are made by Avon and they are now producing a direct copy under the Avon brand name but much cheaper It can when others can't,

I was thinking Avon AX7s or Coppers AT/3 Sport 2 but going back to Duratracs as for the money you pay you got longevity from them feeling of more safety in most conditions and we have never got flat on Duratracs and they look awesome
