What is the offence(s) they’d be done for? Some of the less extreme/twonkish vehicles look guilty of no more than not adhering to the accepted practise of ‘high revs/low speed’ for crossing water, not as easy in an auto gearbox vehicle
Driving without due care and attention, i.e., splashing people? Failing to be in control of the vehicle? Wearing an offensive shirt in a built-up area between 23:00 and 07:00?

In breach of Section3 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 - Careless, and inconsiderate, driving:
Quote:
If a person drives a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or place, he is guilty of an offence.
I guess it's only the ones that drive through in a way that throws up a huge wall of spray that could wet someone nearby that are done. Having said that, it could be an interesting fight - the people standing nearby might be said to be encouraging the splashing so is there still an offence?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

most people who go to view cars going through Rufford Ford stand on the platform on the mill side of the crossing where it is 99.999999999% impossible to get splashed unless the wind is blowing in the right direction. But there is plenty of encouragement from the public standing there.
The raised walkway on the downstream side of the ford is a different matter, if you stand there when cars go through fast you are almost guaranteed to get splashed.
So the viewing publics common sense (does it exist? ) plays a major part in getting splashed or not.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

I’m not surprised. To be honest, the way some people drove through was dangerous. If they had lost control, people could have died.
Social media spread the spectacle and once again the idiots spoil it for the majority of sensible users.

sorry but the idiot behind the camera really needs to get a life. Yes its a bit of a waste of police resources but move on FGS, if the idiots hadnt been so stupid, and the same idiots couldnt be trusted to obey the road closure then what else is to be done.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Rufford Ford now has a temporary ( but legally enforceable) road closure order in place which the local authority say will be in place for the foreseeable future until a “permanent “ solution is found
