It went to the garage for them to search for the reasons for multiple errors on the dash and they said they had updated the BCM and PCM although it transpires they have not fixed the problem.
I had a low battery warning on the key this morning, changed the battery but it no longer works. Fortunately the spare is OK.
Any ideas what happened here?

Make sure you use a branded battery such as Duracell - might seem odd but key fobs are known to object to cheap batteries.
Also make sure any protective plastic is removed from the battery before fitting - learnt that from experience.
