EPB Failure

Hi All,

My EPB failed last night, it's jammed on and just screeches whether I pull the lever up.or down.

I've found the emergency release cable and have pulled it as hard as I can but it won't release.

Can these jam? Or do I need to enlist the help of someone with super human strength.

Any help appreciated as I was supposed to be going on holiday this morning.

Cheers

Yep.....

Pull up the panel behind the handbrake switch (or the complete panel) find a surprisingly thin steel cable with a loop on the end, pull until you think it's going to snap then pull harder. If that's not hard enough and it doesn't release get a screwdriver, jack handle or similar put it through the loop and pull harder Rolling Eyes

Cheers

I've got the bar from the jack through the loop and two of us pulling up on it.

Still won't budge at all.

Finally managed to get the handbrake to release by driving the car forward about a foot. Not an ideal thing to do but it made the handbrake release.

Just taken it for a test drive and the nearside disk/drum was getting a bit warm, looks like that is the one that has seized.
