Phone bluetooth connection.

I am trying to get the phone bluetooth connection working in my D3 commercial.

It had a Parrot system fitted, which was bodged up and wired in with a separate speaker hidden behind the dash! I have stripped all of this out and my phone will connect with the car system but when I dial a number I don't get any sound from the car speakers. I was thinking of fitting a D4 BT module but I am not sure whether there is a problem with the system and I would be wasting my time.

A new Parrot system properly wired in would be another option.

Do you have access to the CCF ?

Is the BT. Carkit system enabled (or maybe disabled after fitting that Parrot system)

Or a wire cut somewere wo shouldn’t be cut
 Best regards
Harold

Harold,

I have a IID tool.

I am not sure about the carkit system being enabled/disabled. Is that the phone holder in the centre console?

No wires seem to have been cut when the Parrot system was installed. It was simply set up to work through a speaker that was wedged in behind the dashboard! Certainly explains why it didn't cut the radio when someone called.

If you tell us what code you use to pair to the BT , that will help someone answer.

I think I would refit parrot connecting 3 wires to radio so it works.

Also tell us age and model of your car!! On profile

Does the headunit have the orange optical connection tubes ?
What colour wires are on the smaller radio connector ?

I used 2121 to connect and it does this fine and dials correctly.

The whole Parrot set up is a mess, so its gone in the bin. Parrot BT kits have been discontinued, so if I fit another system it will probably be a Bury one, with the D3 adapter loom. I would still rather do the D4 upgrade, if it's going to work.

It's a D3 Commercial (as mentioned) 2008.

Yes, the two orange fibre optic cables are connected. Not sure about the colour of the other wires.

Well if you have optic and an IID tool you could go down the D4 route.

While on the phone call, turn the radio volume knob up.

This will adjust the phone volume.

Have ordered a D4 module, so will see if that improves matters.

Did you try turning the volume up while on a call ?

Nav and phone all have their own volume

You can also set the volume for nav & bluetooth in the radio menu without being on a call. I think you get to have it + 1 +2...etc higher than the radios volume setting.

If you have no joy and intend to keep the car... just pop CarPlay/android auto into it and bypass/ ignore the Land Rover side. The BT can be a minefield of parts and coding.

google unique auto....I have their kit.. its awesome.
A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
