Well, before the UK followed the US down the path of "where there's blame, there's a claim", etc., anyway.
Back then, if we messed up, the parents of the mate we'd accidentally hurt didn't sue our parents for compensation. We both just got a slap 'round the ear and told to not be so stupid in future. Not "don't be stupid" but "don't be so stupid". Subtle difference that meant we were allowed to be stupid but don't hurt ourselves. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
