4 bike Rack Recommendations?
I have a Thule 2 bike rack which is amazing. But, the childrens bikes have grown, now need a 4 bike carrier on the tow ball. Anyone have a good example to share?

I think it is actually Atera, not Altera. Still a good rack all the same Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Atera is more money, but crucially, allows you to slide the bikes away fromt he car while still mounted. THis lets you open the rear doors. SO, so usefuld4 HSE

I think the ability of a tow bar (rack) mounted carrier to do this is crucial. We had a Thule 3 bike with a fourth bike extension capability. It was excellent, don't recall the model but easily researched. But must be tilting..Jim

Halfords 4 bike tilting rack here too. Works great.

Maxxraxx flange mounted rack. Also tilts away to get in the boot.
Has an extension piece so you can tow a caravan with it on, even better.2014 D4 XS

Rather than starting a new thread I thought I would hang off the back of this one.
Has anyone recently purchased either the NEW VERSION Thule Velo Compact 3 or the Atera STRADA DL 3?
I am looking for confirmation that in tilt mode the lower tailgate on the D4 can be fully opened to accommodate getting the dog in and out of the car.
From the limited research I am slightly more drawn to the Thule as I prefer the look of the clamps that actually attach to the bike frame and the fact that those clamps can be quick released and removed for easier threading through the bike frames.
Thoughts, views and any photos with tailgate lowered much appreciated.
