Hi, just a very quick question, I'm thinking of changing the standard 18" wheels with 255/60/18 tyres for some 19" wheels with 255/55/19 tyres, is this a simple swop or will it effect the speedometer ratio?
Thanks

They're the same circumference so no difference on the speedo.

As above, however the ride comfort is so good on 18”s. Better off road and nigh on impossible to kerb the alloys.
I ran 18”s on my D3 HSE and D4’s (Compomotive rims).

Thanks guys for the quick responses, nice to know no change to speedo, I hadn't considered comfort so I'll think again and perhaps have the current wheels refurbished.

I agree 100% with LT.
I downsized the wheels on my last 2 Discos to give effectively no risk of kerbing the wheels, better ride & better performance off-road.

I don't suppose they're still lying around anywhere ... ?

Running 18s on my D3 and agree with both above, they are still large enough to accommodate the V8 brake upgrade so what’s not to like? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

I’m afraid not. Used 18” Compomotive rims are highly sought after. It’s worth putting a wanted ad up though. You never know. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

As already mentioned, the larger V8 brakes fit under the 18” rims. If you haven’t already fitted them, I’d spend my money on those and a refurb of your existing rims. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Is that any 18" wheels or have I misunderstood?
I've got a September '16 Landmark and was under the impression that the only 18" wheels that would clear my brakes are the aftermarket Compomotives and Tuffants.

The 18" wheels are D3. As you've found, the D4 needs 19" or specially designed 18s .

Did I see something about 18" wheels for the new Defender fitting the D4 or did I just dream that?
