Lorry Diesel
'Someone' has just put lorry diesel into the LRD4. What is this likely to do to the car?
Apparently 'they' couldn't get the nozzle in but still managed to put 5 litres worth in!

It’s the same stuff, assuming it was from a public forecourt. I used to save time by filling my D3 up at the “lorry” pump. The nozzle fitted fine.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

As above chillax… we have a lorry Horsebox and we fill up at exactly the same pumps as yourself.. a lorry only pump runs at higher pressure to deliver the same fuel at a higher speed otherwise we would be standing there forever!

I worked for a big haulage firm with a fleet of 1000+ vehicles the diesel is generally a higher grade with the best additives included, modern trucks want the best and generally get it.
These pumps often have deals for the hauliers on the price hence the different pumps for management of the costs.

That’s what I wondered. If it is Adblue then don’t drive it. You will need your tank emptying.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

The pump didn't fit? Ad Blu pumps nozzles are very small if not smaller than a standard forecourt nozzle? Commercial pumps have a much larger diameter.

Diesels diesel at the end of the day and reds been banned for trucks.
Adblue from pumps is coloured blue.
Diesel is black.
So a monkey can’t mix both up so and filling up from a lorry dedicated pump will have no issues but the pump nozzle may be bigger because lorry’s can take up to 500L of fuel.
No issues in using them.
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

If it was Diesel it will be DERV (Diesel Engine Road Vehicle) then all is well
If it was ad blue the tank needs draining and cleaning without running the engine
If it was red diesel, absolute worst case you’re unlucky enough to get pulled in the next 24 hours and your tank dipped, unlikely though.. even then I’m sure it would be diluted that much it’s not going to make a difference..
If it was petrol just fill up the rest of the tank with diesel and it’ll be fine.. maybe change the filter soon..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

I got some (cough cough) cheap diesel (from a dodgy friend) but turned out it had a lid of water in it.. I’d already put a full tank in the D4 and it ran fine..
I put 20 ltrs in my diesel mokka and it made it 10 meters and brought up an error or water in the fuel.. off and wouldn’t let me start..
The D4 can run some through them without issue as long as you dilute it with enough diesel ..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Bigger nozzle / capacity to deal with adding 600litres to a HGV tank compared with 80litres in your car.
