GPS entry on the move

Hi All

There was a notification on the main list re the above . I queried it with Land Rover Midarand , and while they were aware of the patch they had not received it yet .

If anyone should be interested in this patch would you please query with your local dealer as to when it will be available . Hopefully enough interest will motivate Land Rover SA to make this available locally

Thanks
Heine

Had mine done a few weeks ago, now can enter destination, change settings, generally fiddle with the system etc on the move. Works a treat! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Is this a 'country specific' modification? Just wondering if this will be available in the states. I had an Acura with nav that you could change on the fly - it was brilliant.

The original service bulletin mentioned that is was for Europe only , but it looks like we will be able to get it in SA as well - just waiting for the local agents to catch up Confused

I haven't been following the updates on the NAV in the US....but I know the 1791 service code works on my rig....very convenient to be able to use the nav while moving....

Indeed. I'm new to the Land Rover phenomena, but so far I'm very happy with the service I receive from the workshop. Only issue I have is convincing them to replace my tyres, which show excessive wear after 12,000.

Don't bother with your dealer as they are not authorised to allow your claim. Phone LRSA direct, tell them the situation and they will then instruct your dealer to do an alignment and wear check. I paid about R200 for this and once LRSA were satisfied I got 40% off my next set of tyres. You should press for even more as mine had done 26000km when they were tested.

Thanks 949 - do you perhaps have contact details for the person (or workshop manager) who did the upgrade , so that I can get our local idiots to give them a call

I gave them a copy of the SB and they managed to do the update. They were however not sure if the update is authorised for RSA yet, so I would not like to get the guys into trouble. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I get a copy of the SB off to you if you don't have it.
