Auxiliary battery

The amber/yellow ECO light has shown on my 2016 D4.

I believe it requires a new auxiliary battery but on contacting two local battery suppliers, Battery World and Batyre, here in Belfast they both informed me it was a Stealer part only.
I have read on this site that the battery Exide EK151, LR047630 is what I require.

Anyone know of a battery supplier in N.I. who would carry said battery?
Or alternatively, a supplier who would post to Northern Ireland?

Thanks in advance.

Just fitted the very same exide battery to mine no problem. Mines a 2014 and had the original aux battery still fitted.! It was showing 9v on the tester. So definitely shot.
Exactly like the lr one that came off. Gave it a charge on the ctek before fitting. Took about 20 minutes. I haven’t got the facility to reset the BMS so I’ll see if it goes ok. Should be ok as it’s a like for like swap eg both agm. It may take a while for the BCM to recognise the new battery though.
As an aside the stop start hasn’t worked yet but that could be down to numerous factors not least the low temperature.

If this is the stop/start battery many of us have decided that the car is better without stop/start. Thumbs Up

I am going to order from Tayna direct, £47 + £15 postage. Sent an email and reply was almost instantaneous hopefully their Yahoo courier service is as quick.
Local battery suppliers were roughly the same price but had a delivery time of a few weeks or battery type was on back order.

NJSS, I just cannot ignore the light, even though my line of vision puts it directly behind the steering wheel. Thumbs Up

Hopefully this shows why I need the auxiliary battery.
A fishing mate making dinner around midnight after an evening trout fly fishing session on Lough Sheelin, saves keeping the engine going, prior to getting sleeping bags out and kipping in back of the D4.

Very envious. Thumbs Up

My late father fished a lot in Ireland for trout and salmon, mainly in the 50's & 60's.

He caught some superb wild brownies on Lough Sheelin. Dapping with a silk floss line and actual daddies. Something I've never done.

I've watched a few great fly fishing videos from there.

D3/4 is the ultimate fishing "wagon".

Tight lines Thumbs Up

I may be at cross purposes here, but that battery isn’t going to allow you to use your D4 as you would a campervan ….. you’d need a split charge system with a second Optima type leisure battery for that….
….. or am I picking this up wrong.

Confused

Happily I have cooked and slept in the back of the D4 many times ronp in the 4/5 years I have had it.
The cooking is done on a small gas ring, standing on a purpose built plate that sits on the rear drop down flap.
The interior lights are shared with head torches but are only used for a short time as lights tend to spoil the outstanding starlight vista that is enjoyed on a lot of rural irish nights especially on the big loughs and it is surprising what you can see when your eyes adjust to low light .getting all poetic here Very Happy

Although we have had some outstanding days, nights on Lough Sheelin LT the glory days were definitely in the 50s and 60s but still the Irish Lough to go to if you are looking big brown trout.

Roll on 2023 season.

Small add on,

Ordered the battery on Tuesday, paying £15 for the pleasure of speedy delivery , and I am still waiting 10.0 am on Sunday.
Courier, Yodel, not Yahoo Embarassed are unreachable either by phone or computer.
Supplier Tayna informed me they have a direct business line to courier and will get back to me within the hour at 11.0am yesterday, still waiting Censored
Thank goodness it does not stop car from driving.

Moan over.

That's a bummer, to Tanyas defence, I've never added any special delivery options, as their next day standard offer has always been adhered to.
