FBH running when hot
Evening chaps
Got home from a long drive this evening, parked up and popped the bonnet to top up the screen wash. I noticed that the FBH was whirring, I assume running. The car was about as ‘up to temperature’ as it ever gets. Is this a fault? It fires up fine on cold starts but I’ve not noticed it running when I park up before. I’m hoping it’s not been running the whole journey. My fuel consumption does drop to about 25mpg tops in winter, unless I’m really nursing it.

Perfectly normal. These engines run quite cold (JLR would call it efficient!) and the FBH augments the temp of the engine to keep it within limits.Richard

They do run all the time when snow is around!
There are hi and lo automatic heat selections

Thanks guys, good to know
Pleased with how the old girl has performed so far, cold starting with no issues down to -7 this week. Looks like glow plugs and FBH are fine.
