Yes they are getting rare.
A scan of the autotrader tonight has confirmed there is nothing that can replace it with what it does camping / fishing trips / family holidays etc.
The welding is rear arces of body, sills, and some chassis. I'll get some pics tomorrow but I am now leaning towards getting it fixed. See what the quote is Monday from the repair shop.
I've a list as long as my arm of repairs, including a full recon box at 136k so it would be silly to let it go. And with a with the resinotor removed nothing sounds quite like it.
Thanks Paul05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

You won't find a single thing to replace your D3 iv picked up a v8 d3 to replace our tdv6 which falls victim to the London ulez expansion.

In case it helps you at all, britpart has the long sills ready made for you. Parts are DA1941 and DA1942.

Just think of it as being a comfy old pair of slippers that needs a bit of new rubber glued to its soles!

Well after looking at some of the horror stories on here, I am pleased by this.
Thats the o/s which is the worst, I will do the near side after lunch.
Tank cradle also required.

I spent a good wedge on new sills and a new tank guard, didn't regret it one bit
