Hey, my LR3 has been going fine the last couple months, just now it wouldn’t start with no turn over (been out twice earlier and was fine though)
Fault codes HDC fault and All Terrain come up and won’t clear
Just had new battery
And cluster pod fixed in Oct 22
A couple of weekends ago when it was heavy rain it wouldn’t start in Malton after driving through a lot of puddles (assuming something got wet)
But todays dry
Wondered if anyone had any ideas please

Morning,
After thinking the short term fox had worked, yesterday the car did the same non turn over again after driving fine
Now when turning the key a tonne of lights come up on the dash but go off once the ignition is on
Reading loads about it being the alternator, has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated
Also the air bag light now stays on too

Hi Bhart90,
I've just read the thread and the various electrical gremlins point to a stuffed battery but as you've said you have recently replaced with a new battery then that would point me to the alternator/charging system.
Other, more knowledgeable members can probably help you diagnose that. I believe you want to be checking the voltage at the battery when the car is running (if you can get it running again) and seeing whether it's over 14.2V. That's the typical charging voltage needed but not sure if there's anything more specific for the D3....other's can confirm that.

HI Mike,
Thanks for the reply!
I’ll do the voltage check, really hoping it’s not the alternator (wishing I’d had it done when I had the Cambelt done now)

We live and learn - I had the cambelt done and then learnt that I should have replaced the slightly weak oil pump for a revised version. Now feels like there's a ticking time bomb waiting!
