Diesel Fuel Leak
Hi.
Can anyone help me diagnose a fuel leak I've got on my Discovery 3. It seems to be coming from somewhere above the fuel cooler. I've circled the spot it's dripping from:

I've checked the injector leakdown pipes and they're all dry on that side. It's a pretty steady leak dripping at a rate of a drop a second or so. Anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

Is that the fuel rail bracket ?
I would check the solid metal injector pipe connections

Thanks for the reply.
This is a view from around the right hand lower suspension arm looking up into the engine bay with the undertray removed.
I think it may be dripping from the exhaust manifold heat shield? Are there any low pressure lines above that area? Has this got to be coming from the high pressure fuel system on top of the cylinder head somewhere? I've only had the car 4 months, I'm not up to speed on where everything is yet.

A wild guess would be an injector leak-off pipe 'O' ring has hardened and split.
But that's just a guess based upon nothing other than your photo.

You have found the injectors, leak off pipes.
So follow the metal pipes from the injectors, looking for a leak up top. You should be able to feel or see it

Mine was dripping down here for months when I first got it, and I had all the same searching, finding and wondering. Mine ended up being the end of the solid line from HPFP, where it meets the HP Rail that feeds the injectors. Want to say it’s a 21mm nut or similarly large toward the back of the engine. Only found mine with a very bright torch that let me see the spray coming out. Took less than 1/16th of a turn and it stopped. Was already tight, just needed to be slightly more tighter.
DO NOT go too near with the engine running. That fuel is at high pressure.D3 HSE - MY05 - Java black

This was exactly where it was, the nut was about finger tight. It was a 17mm and I had to remove the hard line to injector 3 to get clearance to tighten it. Previous owner had the intake manifold replaced by his local mechanic so he probable didn't tighten it properly putting it back together. The leakdown pipe for injector 3 was held on with a ziptie too so I think I'll check everything else he's done in the service history.
