log into the nanocom, from the menu select calibrations, then select steering angle, you will see steering angle cal. button - press that to calibrate making sure your front wheels are straight ahead

Thanks for the reply. Where is the calibrations in the menu screen as I don’t seem to have it. My nano com had to go back to Cyprus recently for repair so has something not been loaded back on to it possibly or am I having a dumb moment 😬 thanks

when you have navigated the menu past select "steering angle" and see button "steering angle cal" you should also see the current steering angle, if you turn your steering wheel the numbers will change on the screen, if you see nothing then something is wrong with the nanocom, can you post an image of the nanocom screen? I will go and get an image of mine, will be 5 mins

here are the images, remember you need your front wheels dead ahead when pressing the steering angle cal button

Pulled this up but can’t find this menu to recalibrate. Just shows angle.

Right. I understand you press the steering cal button to actually calibrate it not to enter that function. Looks like mine is Censored .

Initially showed fault and degrees -780 now shows calibrated -178. Is it a new sensor or any other remedies anyone knows of? Thanks

are your front wheels dead straight? if you turn your steering wheel does the value change?
I would make sure the wheels are dead straight and press steering cal button

when I did mine I had just changed the front suspension arms and forgot to re calibrate SAS, so when I drove the D3 above 50 mph the suspension lowered, once re-calibrated all was ok.

Yes they are dead straight. It’s started having a total melt down with suspension lowering. Traction control kicking in putting brake on when turning a corner at slow speed. If keep wheels straight ahead hdc fault kicks in. Having searched on here the sas was highlighted as a culprit and going by readings possibly is. Just would like to see if anyone knows anything else that may cause the sas fault as not wanting to change it and ding it’s triggered from something else wrong.

Once cleared the fresh ones all pointed to the sas. It amazes me that the so many faults cause the suspension to lower. Surely default should be to keep it up as doesn’t help with getting home.

Hi,
yes that's the problem with Canbus systems they can be hard to find the issue, I had something similar years ago whilst on hols in Scotland and in a remote place, suspension dropping and loads of fault codes, it was then I found out about the brake light peddle switch which when goes faulty causes loads of ghost issues, it well documented on here and most people change that when such issue arise, they are about £25 ish and 10 mins to replace - worth considering.

I also found this on here which is something I have not done before

If you have any access to a diagnostic tool with live data, look at the value in the SASM (steering angle sensor module) when the wheels are pointing straight ahead. Any deviation from 0degrees will (to varying levels of severity) bring up the symptoms you have. The fault is generally the drive dog on the steering column coming loose, and easy and cheap fix with epoxy glue and a SASM recalibration.
