In Australia, wheel spacers/adaptors are illegal except where fitted by manufacturers as standard. The Aust authorities (9 authorities) consider them so unsafe that if a vehicle is caught with them fitted the vehicle is ordered off the road immediately.

Picking up this thread, does anyone here know what the scrub radius of the D3 actually is?
I have a 2005 HSE with 19 inch OEM wheels. I have 30mm spacers that I'm yet to put on because I cannot find out what the scrub radius is as standard.
I'd be interested to know whether the larger 20+ inch wheels on D4s for example have a wider offset too, as they will also change the scrub radius yet I presume that the suspension geometry is much the same across all D3/D4s? 2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...

I think that this is probably a sensible approach.
Whatever you do, if fitting spacers, advise your insurers in advance. If you fail to do so & they find out your insurance might be cancelled immediately.
