My D4 has developed a central locking fault. When locking the car I can hear the clunk of the locks operating clearly. Usual chirping and winking ligh
ts. So far so good. However I can pull any of the door handles and the door opens followed by the other doors unlocking. Nothing showing as a fault on my iid Gap tool. Any ideas?2011 D4 HSE, it'll be nice if it ever works!

+1 ... leave the key somewhere else when you go back to try and open the doors. If you have the key on you then the car will unlock as you try to open the door.

Yes I do... but I had thought of that and can repeat the problem with the fob well out of range. Still no fault showing on the iid tool nor does it seem to be affected by the aftermarket immobiliser or the car alarm. Worryingly I can "lock" the car...then open it manually and the alarm does not go off.
I have some non related repairs to do so will do a hard reset while disconnecting the battery for that. Nothing to lose in trying.2011 D4 HSE, it'll be nice if it ever works!

Just a thought but has someone else left a spare key in the car ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Try this routine to rule out a faulty lock.
Open all the windows.lock the car while watching the locking levers,do this for each door.
Press each leaver in turn to see if any depress further. If any of your electric windows are not working it would indicate a faulty door control module which would stop the alarm from arming.
I have cleared the problem. Turned out to be the front passenger side actuator. It seemed to work, showed no fault. Swapping it for a spare one fixed the issue but I have no idea why. I hate keyless entry and have no confidence in it2011 D4 HSE, it'll be nice if it ever works!

That's an odd one... glad you managed to get it sorted though.
Agree, I'm not a fan of keyless entry, never understood why it became a thing. Old style keys have never caused me any inconvenience and it seems the security issues with keyless entry are a pretty big downside.
