Words/phrases people dislike

The Beeb has a little story about words and phrases a specific subset of the public would like to see banished. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65634829

The top ten are:

1. Going forward

2. No disrespect, but…

3. 'Like' as a filler

4. I wanted to reach out

5. I'm not gonna lie

6. Basically

7. Let's go offline

8. 'So' at the start of a sentence

9. The 'optics' of something

10. My bad

I'd agree with those, and add the following:

"I'm good" as a response to the question "How are you?".

"Simples". It was fun for a few weeks but now it's just jarring.

"Can I get..." in response to being asked what someone would like e.g. drinks in a pub, a coffee shop, etc.. No. They get it for you; that's their job.

What words/phrases would you like to see used less?

"When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die! You don't know who's children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

I used a "let's take this offline" through gritted teeth yesterday when one of my client's senior management began doubling-down on one of the most ridiculous things I had heard in a long time.

I could have simply said "don't be so Censored ing stupid, there's a reason we're now running this for you, and it's because you are completely lacking in capability, now stop trying to manage how we deliver this".

But instead I took it offline. And told her away from her peers that's her expertise is desperately needed in other areas .....
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

"You know"..... Censored drives me crazy

"See you later"...... doesn't make sense if you're not seeing them later....

I'm glad 'Going forward' is at the top of the list, and 'like' is like on the list (like).

When any so called professional, or just about all MPs, start a sentence or answer to a question with the words 'I think', now that does make my p**s boil.

You either have an opinion worthy of debate, or not.

They should stand by their future comments by ascerting their beliefs, not hiding behind the fact that thinking about something is not the same as having given it any substance, and can be withdrawn if it proves to be unpopular or crass.

If you have nothing intelligent and/or with merit to say, keep it shut.

I was always told, 'you have 2 ears, 2 eyes and only 1 mouth, use them in the same proportion and you will be a wiser man (woman or one that doesn't know the difference between an appendage or receptacle).

Not sure if this qualifies as a rant, but if it does, so be it.

Single item lists when people are speaking.

"What I would like to happen is, A) taxes being reduced and wages going up".

I'm still waiting for B.

I hate the word "kid" when referring to children, goats have kids, people have children, just laziness.
I have lived at or near Southwell all my life I hate it when "foreigners"(Londoners) call it " Suthell", my mother used to reprimand me if I did not pronoune it correctly.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Shall we put "I feel like we should..." on the list? This one seems to have replaced "I think that" in those under 30 and is used to put a wrapper of invincibility around whatever follows. How dare you suggest my feelings are incorrect? You are attacking the very essence of me!

I tend to respond "Interesting. Why do you feel that?", which inevitably leaves them floundering.

I would also nominate "Agree?" as a single word sentence at the end of some nonsense, usually on LinkedIn
