EPB BADLY jammed ON (D4 2010)

Hi Big Cry
EPB has jammed ON today, usual horrible shrieking noises as the winch tries to do its job.
Have pulled the manual release over-ride cable in central console with all possible stength, nothing gives (normally you'd feel a jolt, and tension in the cables then all falls loose).
Car is only 67k miles, manual release cable slides smoothly in its sheath and springs back when not being pulled; NOT a rusted release cable I think.
I'm WAY out in N.W. Donegal, VERY rural, and expensive prospects of getting recovery to my excellent Indy team in Ballymena - so thinking I might just cut the sheathed steel cables left and right linking wheels to the inboard EPB winch.
Of course I'll then need new cables assy. and maybe new or refurb. winch; but at least the car should roll.
Hoping the parking shoes are sprung not to rub on the drum with cables having been cut and dangling loose ?
I'd welcome a steer whether I'd be foolish cutting through those cables ..........
With hopeful thanks !!!
