Charging fault post earth strap repair - any ideas?

Is it possible to replace just the diode pack?
 D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen
D4 2014 SDV6 HSE - Shiny

Yes you can, I did it on my D3.
Got the diode pack from Auto electrics place in Manchester (G E Middleton).
You need a large soldering iron though.

I would tell you, but you’ll fry your diode pack and be in £300 for a new alternator. Get it towed to a garage and let them diagnose.

Er, the jump lead diagnostic route has worked many times and I've never heard anyone warn about fri-odes before.

All you are doing is providing a parallel path for the electrons to whizz along.
