Pressing this button makes my car light up like a xmas tree!

So, upon having replaced the TCCM, done all the resistance checks and cleaned contacts in many connectors.. (see thread here -https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/can-bus-iid...04708.html)...

.. I have now got the car started and it is behaving normally... except when you press this button:

the one for the lumbar support on the driver's side seat. With the car engine running, once you press this button, almost instantly the dash goes crazy, hazards switch on, and a whole host of errors come up.

Looks like this:

I've tested with the other buttons on the seat and nothing happens. And for the avoidance of doubt, and to confirm I'm not losing my mind Shocked , I have tested this a number of times. In one test case, pressing the button didn't do anything, but in every other test case it made the car light up as pictured.

To get rid of the lit up dash and the hazards, I then remove the ABS connector, leave it for 10-30 seconds, reconnect it, restart the engine and the errors are gone (sometimes have to clear them with the GAP IID tool) - oh and the error relates to the CAN Bus.

So, the question is, what does the lumbar support button have to do with the canbus? and has anyone ever had this issues before?

thanks to everyone for reading.

Sound like you have a short circuit that is effecting the can bus to the ABS unit

+1 on Mastertech. Possibly a element problem in the lumbar part of the seat. If you dont need the adjustment, disconnect the switch and tape it up.

Thanks for the responses.

Any idea which connector it is?

Gently ease the switch out and then you should be able to see where it goes.
