Front suspension drops when car is turned off - any thoughts
Hi all.
I have recently had to have a new compressor fitted to my 05plate D3 - the old one gave up the ghost and also blew one of the engine compartment fuses.
the new compressor works fine (a bit more noisily..) but when I turn the car off and leave it for any length of time over ten minutes the front suspension drops back down - it never used to do this.
Does anyone have any insight on this? Is there something I need to do to stop this from happening?
If the new pump was fitted at a garage, then you need to take it back as it has a leak somewhere on the system .
If you fitted it then you need to check the pipe work and the airbags in the struts. Also make sure a cover has been fitted if its noisey and fitted correctly. It should be no more noisier than the old one.

You've got a leak!
the old compressor probably died from overwork, trying to keep up with the leak. The new compressor will also die if you don't fix the actual problem.
Front air bags are the most likely suspect.Richard
