Hi all!
New to the group. I have picked up a low milage 2010 D4 GS, sub 70k.
I was checking through the service records and see that the 105k service has been completed (at 55k), but it only states on the service record (in the book) front belt replaced.
Question... I thought both belts needed replacing, and if so, were they part of the 105k service, or just the front?
And is it normal to have a 105k service at 55k? Or will it be determined by the age?
I'm quite keep to know if the service has been done correctly as it may affect the warranty.

So, excuse my ignorance, but as the service schedule stops at 120 months, is it normal to continue 12 month servicing, or do owners generally revert to the 15k service intervals?

Especially not on a D4... Oil change every 10k kms with good quality oil is good start

Hi,
service is 12k or 12 months and 105k or 7 years which ever comes first
so the 105k (or 7 year) service should have been done in 2017 "some" garages don't do the rear belt as its hard to get to so don't bother
If you plan on keeping it look at doing some preventative maintenance such as ^ as already said more frequent oil changes
and
Gearbox oil transfusion its not even on the schedule but many think its well worth doing (it is )

I’ll keep with the regular oil changes and flushes.
As for the back belt, should it have been changed as part of the 105k service. The service book states the “ancillary belts” in the service attachment, this just looks like the cam belt.
Problem is, my warranty explicitly states that for the car to be covered l, all suggested service items have to have been completed.

I suggest you endeavour to get all invoices from the previous owner.
If all else fails contact whoever did the 105k service & ask them whether the belts were changed or not.

Evening All,
I recently had the 105k belt service done on mine, used a respected local indie. It needed it on time, 7 years as it's only done ~46k. I asked about the rear belt and they said they never changed them with the cam belts as they'd never know one to fail? The mechanic who actually did the service has been there 25 years.
i was happy with their service and attention to detail so went with their advice.
Que all of the replies on failed fuel pump belts..
Charged £662 including a service, oil, filters and an inspection etc so I was quite happy.

A failed rear pump belt can take the cover and lot of expensive wiring out should it fail, will make the cost of replacing the belt look cheap. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi,
there is no Law that you have to change them, its your money and your decision, as long as you are aware of the potential risk and you are happy to take it then that's right for you.
The garage is taking NO risk you are if it did fail you can hear them saying
"how unlucky you are never happened before it will cost you £? to fix it"
Perhaps they have found they do more business charging £650 ish for a service and NO belt then £950 with the belt and to date no one has come back to them so
although think the D4 has only been about for the last 10 years or so and not 25 years, would be very surprised if they have Never known a belt of some sort failing in their 25 years
Like most things in life, You pays your money and takes your chance, as long as you know the risks.
for OP. if its part of the requirements for your warranty it should be done to comply with schedule as already confirmed ^
