Forgive the stupid question, but does this 'issue' transfer through to the 3.0 variants of the D5?
Stupidly I don't know if it's the same engine.
And what about the 3.0 L405 FFRR and L494 RRS? Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

AFAIK, 3ltr lumps are all same, certainly pre-2019
Happy to be shot down if it gives Nasher a better answer. .

Thanks Hardware.
I'm really surprised that nobody has piped up with a definitive answer to this. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

Poor design I think, like everything these days, we can calculate loads etc so make things closer to the limit (or within it in this case) rather than in the past everything was over engineered and heavy Joined the BMWX5 45e group

The D5 does still suffer from crank issues. Which is a shame
I keep eyeing them up, then remember the engine choices are either a 3.0 or an Ingenium
Then I go back to my TDV8 My D3 Build Thread
