| Ignition Needs Delay in Turning to Start Car |

Hi there, I have strange problem with my D3 ignition. At first I had a flat battery as the symptons were the same, car wont start, funny sound from car locks and a bit of a flash on thewarning lights. I have now realised in most cases, if I turn the key and hold in 2nd postion before going all the way to start the car, it will start.
Switiching off though is also weired. If I turn the car off after running, the tacho inidcator does not go to zero, sits at about 1000RPM (engine not running), the radio stays on and the GPs screen is still on. After a while I get and error on the radio display "Vehicle Fault-system shutting down". 
Also appears the vehicle information (fuel use, distance travelled etc resets)

I'd start with a "hard Reset" and see where you are after that.
Other things that spring to mind would include checking earth leads.

thanks, will check the earth leads.
Did notice it first after towing an old caravan, so wonder if this could be coincidence or the cause. I've had it reset a couple of times and still occuring.
