Holder beneath drivers seat?

Hi,
Being a new Discovery 4 owner I’m trying to understand all aspects of this car, and one thing is bugging me…
Beneath the drivers seat (LH side as I’m in Sweden) there is an empty metallic frame/holder that seems to be designed to hold some device or even something as simple as a first aid kit - does anyone know for sure what’s it’s for?

Depending on the model of Disco you have (not clear from your profile) it was used for amps for differering stereo systems or for the dvd nav systems on pre HDD versions. As you say a useful place to store bits or use the brackets to attach a fire extinguisher.

 I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

In the D3, the satnav is there under the left seat. In the D4 the satnav, if you have it, is integrated into the display.

The amp, if you have one, is underneath the right seat.

Thanks!

Appreciate the feedback, I did input some info about the car when registering but it seems to need an update. As it’s an “S” model it does not have the fancy navigation or stereo so probably fitted by default and never used.
