If you've not already done so, then (as suggested above) definitely give the MAF and MAP sensors a good clean.Previously:

Hi,
Can I just say thank you to you all for the suggestions and information you have given me. I will certainly clean the MAF sensors when it stops raining, and see whether that has been the problem, as it certainly seems to be the consensus opinion

Worst 18.4 MPG when VERY cold using FBH, heaters & lights heavily laden, on a long journey in appalling weather.
Best 29.2, on cruise control, generally 72 MPH, on motorways for almost a full tankful.

Looking on fuelly.com, the mean MPG for a 2014 Disco seems to be between 24 and 25. I'm averaging 26.7 MPG over 35500 miles. My best MPG was 34 when I drove slowly to London from Edinburgh in the middle of the night.D1 300Tdi - gone
