Well, as I found out they won't quote on any mods that aren't from a short list of things like side steps, winter tyres and dashcams....Jim

£999.84/yr for my D3, with a £600 compulsory excess. Current insurance with Hastings Direct £286/yr with a £150 excess.
Can't imagine they're going to get much business like that.

Been with LR for more than 8 years and now they wont insure me as Highway have now classed my postcode as “to high a risk”.

I've never understood how insurers gauge postcode risks. Playing the online comparison game I found I could get cheaper insurance if the car was parked on-street in dodgy parts of Glasgow, than in a locked garage in the Highlands. As the Americans would say "Go figure!"Previously:
2010 FL2 TD4e GS
‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW - still got this, non-runner on SORN.
‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol
‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever!
Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch)
Series III SWB Diesel

when my son was still living with me he went to reinsure his car and was told it was substantially more expensive to insure it as garaged than it was to insure it on the drive.
The drone on the other end of the phone said it was because there was a higher than average rate of theft from garages in my postcode..... 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten
