Replacement engines....

My Land Rover guy spotted something today: the engine number doesn't match the one on the V5. This was news to me, and I'm obviously keen to find out what I can.

I don't have any documentation about this, but could do with some pointers: what's the best way to find out info about this, assuming it was a LR warranty job?
