Yes I very much agree! I have got it booked in for an investigation tomorrow. The boost pipe was not seated correctly, a few screws were loose on the air box, and battery covers were not clipped in so I'm doubting the last garage!
Front radiator side of the fan is bone dry though and so is rad. Thinking it's engine side.
Hoping it's an easy fix 2016 Discovery 4 HSE

Found the problem!
When the cambelt was replaced, a bolt was not replaced that held the coolant pipe away from the aux belt, it had been rubbing against the pulley and worn through. Shiny new pipe installed now!
Back onto start-stop now I think I have confirmed my battery is on it's way out, it is the original LR branded one and I have had a gearbox fault indicator on start-up which goes away when running. Reading the codes suggests a low voltage fault, so pointing at the battery at the moment! 2016 Discovery 4 HSE

Glad the coolant issue is sorted. That could have been catastrophic.
I know many do not appreciate stop-start. But it does save on significant hydro carbons entering the air in built up areas…. And Im all for not pi**ing off Mother Nature. Glad you are looking at it.
Im quite used to the feature now. Though I do turn down the climate control fan and shut off the A/C when it kicks in. And the little game I play of releasing pressure on the brake, prior to ‘go’ so that the engine starts up and has a few seconds before we need to move.

I replaced the battery on Friday and start stop is back! I think it's a useful feature, reducing stress on the torque converter when stationary and in drive. I usually flick it into neutral, but it's nice not to worry about it now!
Just onto some of the other faults that have popped up this last week. IID tool is on the way so hopefully I can decipher them 2016 Discovery 4 HSE

Good job.
As you probably know, the pinpoint tests in the workshop manual typically make an assumption that there is an inadequate electrical source (main battery). Correct the situation, clear the codes, start the engine and have a look a second time. 2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Yesterday I finally got around to doing a BMS reset on both batteries and SS started working. 2014 Discovery 4 HSE

Precisely right. The vehicle needs the electric metrics to discern when its safe to shutdown and appropriate to start up. 2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green
