I would like to check the idle oil pressure of my 3.0 SDV (2012) to ensure within limits before I do an oil change (over to 5W-40 DPF).

Does anyone know where I can find details of the pressure gauge connection point? Unfortunately the video doesn't go into specific detail.
If you have any other advice on this subject area as well please let me know!

If you look at their previous video, they machined a block to act as a Y piece.
There are also different methods on this forum so worth doing a search

Is there a recommended search term? I've just checked "engine oil idle check" (and similar) but not sure if there's something more specific you might advise?

Easiest to go off the oil pressure switch tapping. I made an extender with a side port. I thought I had a photo of it, but I can't find it a the moment.
You can just see the gauge pipe under the EGR pipe

What a superb job u done there
Reminds me I must get round fitting mine , managed to fit the digital display gauge in the RH side panel needs tidying up, did get an adaptor that accepts the gauge sensor along with the oem one, I just got a short one which has the same specs as the longer one currently fitted
Also wish to get it fitted before I go over to 5/40

Hi Gary, I think you had your kit before me, that's what spurred me on to get it done!
I've taken it off again now I tested the oil pressure cold/hot/idle/2000rpm etc. Didn't want to risk a leak from the gauge or the capillary pipe.
If I remember right, the oil pressure switch has an NPT thread? 1/4" NPT perhaps?Richard

I think u might be right mate , went with the wired version so can leave it in without worrying about an oil feed tube
Yes that what I also got with the 1/4 NPT, do need to just finish extending the wires
Out of curiosity do u remember the pressures u got plse and if that’s with 5/30 or 5/40 plse

That was 2000rpm hot engine, 5W40.
If I recall, hot idle was 0.9bar, as per spec. Still seems desperately low pressure, when my old grey Ferguson from 1949 will run 50 psi at idle!Richard

Where can I get my hands on the necessary bits to simply check the pressure.
Got the light coming on at hot idle. That’s with fresh oil and filter using 5/40…. 👀🤔🫣2005 D3 HSE

Have you changed the oil pressure switch? It's the easiest and cheapest thing to start with. No point worrying about the pump or bearings if it's the switch at fault.Richard

I didn't get round to it yet mate, had so many other jobs on. Got 10l of oil sitting there ready to go, need to get on with it in the next few weeks. Checked my filter at least, fortunately no metal particles found on first look!
