New to the IID
Hi,
I've just got a D3 and the obligatory GAP tool. I know I have a charging issue with the battery light staying on, and the IID says -
P0622-29 - Generator field terminal circuit
General signal failure - signal is invalid (68)
The alternator is putting out around 14 volts and the battery showing around 12V. I've got a new alternator ready to go on and ordered a battery, but not convinced its the alternator at fault. Has anyone else had this come up?
I've also got this one under ventilation - B1B78-84-System pressure- Bus signal/message failure - signal is below allowable
range (2B)
Any ideas please?

Cheers Pete K.
I read on one of the forums, it could just be a wire to the alternator, so will check that 1st.
I'll see if I can get the AC checked then too..... .Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

Only denso alternators should be fitted. Else you will end in pain.
There is a 5A fuse in the fusebox by battery marked ALT
Worth removing cleaning/replacing that just incase.

The replacement I have is a refurb Denso unit from (I think) a reputable seller. I'm going to double check the fuse later as in work. I'm getting 12.6 V at the battery, ignition off and been standing since 0530 this morning. When started, I'm getting 14.4 V with everything off. The battery's own charge indicator is green.
I want to check the wire to the alternator, just looking where to find the connection or plug.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

There is a 3 pin plug on the rear of the alternator.
I don’t think you can get your hand in though !

Cheers Pete K, I'm going to swap the alternator and battery anyway now. I'm just hoping the weather stays dry this week to do it.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales
