Battery light still on after new alternator fitted
I had the battery light staying on and after recommendation, changed the alternator and battery as I was only getting 13V with it running.
I have fitted a recon DENSO unit and I cleared the fault with my IID tool, but the light came back on again a short while after starting.
The fault coming up is -
P0622-29 - Generator field terminal circuit
General signal failure - signal is invalid (2B)
Am I missing something else, or does the new alternator need a bit of time to get recognised?
Cheers for any help.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

It does take a minute or so.
But if you continue to have problems, have a look at the engine ecu connectors behind the battery.
Make sure they are dry.
Check the 5A alt fuse in the fusebox if you haven't already.

Cheers again Pete K, I've checked the fuse again, and all the connectors appear ok.
It's frustrating now, as I may have wasted time & money changing the battery and alternator (although I now know how to do another job on it )
I'm going to have a look through the wiring diagram to see where the cables run and see if I can find an issue. I'll probably check continuity between the alternator plug and fuse etc.. when I get time.
At least I know the parts are working and I'm actually getting the right voltage.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales

The battery light is still staying on regardless of how fully charged the battery is, so it's possibly the monitoring or control cables continuity to the ECM.
I haven't had a chance to check the wiring yet as had a lot of other things going on, but I was wondering if there are any voltage values on the 'alt con' and 'alt mon' for when I test? I'm obviously going to do continuity tests before anything else.Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales
