Loose plug by main battery

I have come across a random 2 pin plug near the positive end of the main battery (2015 HSE Lux). Please can anyone help me identify what it should be doing - if anything? It also looks like something is missing from the positive terminal, though I could be wrong. The negative terminal has the small module attached (BMS?) and that has a two pin plug going to it.

Leave it disconnected

Used before the car is delivered.

Thanks Pete. It's very odd as I changed the battery just after Christmas and I'm certain it wasn't loose there then. The reason I asked is because the previous battery failed after a few weeks of being fitted, could have been a bad battery but I've noticed my IID tool isn't showing any live values for the battery which I don't think is right?

FWIW, I agree with Pete having previously found that plug too, and asked on here. It comes up reasonably often!!!

My IID Tool also does not show live values for the battery, I asked Ian Bodsworth to plug in his IID Tool when he came to do my megaflush on the gearbox and his tool also did not show live values for the battery.

Thank you, that's very useful to know - perhaps some kind of limitation within the IID software itself?

On the subject of batteries can anyone see a reason why having the second (aux) battery disconnected would present a problem? I ocassionally forget to disable the start/stop, and it is a feature I strongly dislike (I won't get into the details). As I don't use said feature, surely removing the second battery from the equation would take some load of the alternator / charging system as well, so can only be beneficial?

Could someone clarify another battery query please? I replaced the main battery at Christmas with a genuine 95Ah 850CCA LR battery, but in the battery menu on the IID tool there isn't an option for this, it simply offers 800CCA, or the next one up is 950CCA. It was already set on the latter, so I left it on that and just did the BMS reset. Is this correct or should I be changing that to the lower offering? I've heard that it could potentially overcharge the battery and damage it.

Thanks
