2007 D3 locked in P.

Hello.
I have a 2007 D3 that is locked in P.
I get the following error messages:
P0928-00 Gearshift lock solenoid -circuit/open.
P0929-00 Gearshift lock solenoid -circuit range/performance.
I have removed the cover around the gear lever and forced it into drive. I then manage to drive the car, but get this message and F in the display: Transmission fault reduced gears.

I have checked the following:
1. Replaced brake light switch.
2. Checked all brake light bulbs.
3. Checked trailer connector for corrosion and checked that it works.
4. Applied power to the solenoid and checked that it works.
5. Checked the connector on the automatic gearbox and it is visually fine with no corrosion.
8. Cleared all fault codes.
9. Did a hard reset
10. Measured battery voltage and checked contacts. Battery voltage is 12.7v
11. Measured volts to solenoid. Measure 11v and get no changes in voltage when I press the brake pedal.

I also get this error code when I read error codes: U0402 Invalid data received from transmission control module. Could this error code have something to do with my problem?

Now I'm running out of ideas on where to troubleshoot more. Do anyone have any tips on other things I should check out to fix this problem?

When this happened to mine it was just fuse no 30 (engine compartment) transmission ECU was blown - so replaced but has now blown again. I hope yours is as simple.

The solenoid is fused in the BCM behind the glove box, fuse 44.

The "U" code is a comms fault as a result of P0928/9 and will resolve itself when the main fault "P" codes are sorted. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the tips. I have checked both fuses that you mention and they are ok

If you can, unplug the solenoid and put 12v across it from another source and see if it moves. You could also try measuring the solenoid's resistance. I am wondering if the solenoid has failed this time. My car did similar, loads of errors etc and stuck in park, but in my case it was the fuse as others have already suggested.

Hello. Thanks for reply.
I have tried connecting 12v from another source and the solenoid then works just fine.
Starting to get quite frustrated at not being able to figure out what the problem is here.

Just a thought, have you checked the connections from the keylock as that is part of the control prior to being able to move the gear lever?

need to check wires between the solonoid, and whereever it goes.

If they are both good, then whatever is driving it could be faulty.
