Just bought this petrol V8, anyone know it?

G'day all, Tim from Bristol.

Took the plunge and bought my first LR today! Got it home and noticed a subtle "DISCO3.CO.UK" sticker in the rear window.

Its T11 LRO a Silver D3 V8, is the previous owner still on here? Id love to know more about the car (Good or bad!)

General question having never driven one of these before. Im finding the suspension surprisingly harsh, not as in firmness but I can feel every bump in the road? Is there a setting i need to adjust? Feels a bit like my old 3 series before I took the runflat tyres off.

Congrats and welcome the V8 club Thumbs Up

Check whether you have polybushes rather than regular bushes. What size of tires do you have?

I’m not a psi guy but a kPa guy but 250 -ish of the latter sounds fine. The tire size is also stock, it’s not like you’ve got 22” or similar ultra low profile ones Whistle

The ride should feel like you’re on a flying carpet so you’ve definitely got something funky going on. I’d take a look at all the bushes to start with as I mentioned earlier.

It’s not stuck at access height is it? Running on the bump stops.

Thanks all. Its on air, all the struts look to be in good condition visually at least. Seems to go up and down when asked so not stuck in access level.

Ill get a good look under it later.

Had a good look around it this weekend, It does have one front shock which isnt as good as i thought it was but it seems functional. Whilst poking about i did find an extraordinary amount of clips, screws, and other fasteners missing from the front end and dashboard! I think what i might be hearing is just all the loose bits moving about. Ill order up some fasteners and see how that goes.

Could anyone tell me, are the driveline components from the engine back the same as the diesel models? And the suspension? are there any differences beside the engine?

At least the transmission, torque converter and both front and rear differentials will be different.

Besides the power train they’re pretty much the same.
