Can a Ctec damage a D4?
As title, can a Ctec XS25000 damage the electrics on a D4 when left on all day while being worked on? My D4 is half dead, it will lock and unlock, interior lights come on, message on screen flashes for a few seconds “start engine battery charge is low” but nothing else works totally dead, checked engine earth it looks good and continuity with multi meter. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
I'm going to suggest this us just part of your waxoil problem..

A few years back my ctek mx7 stopped charging my D4 ....... then it started discharging it.
Nothing wrong with the D4 as I had it checked out.
And nothing wrong with the ctek, as I still keep my summer runabout permanantly connected to it.
Like many good relationships, they just fell out and stopped talking to each other.
there's a long thread in the vaults - search ctek and ronp as author....... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.

And the proper application of any charger is clearly laid out in the owner's manual.2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Sorry I thought you meant Ctec manual but reading both I have not done anything wrong just using the charger as I have done for the last few years.
The input voltage of the Multi xs 2500 is 14.6 volts, no more than the alternator so that hasn’t solved the cause of the problem. It can when others can't,
