Wheels that will not fit on a D3
Just the common FFRR wheels that will not fit on a D3.
FFRR pre 2006 18" wheels
FFRR pre 2006 19" 6 spoke wheels

Obviously there are many, many more wheels from older LRs that do not fit but these are the common ones that people ask about as they are cheap on ebay. No 16" wheels will fit, nor will any Disco 1 or 2, RR Classic, P38 RR or pre 2006 FFRR (AFAIK).

Mounty, that is getting complicated and liable to be out of date very quickly. Unless someone more knowledgeable wants to set up a definitive tyre guide, I'd suggest that is best left to a "what's best now in (say) 18" tyres for mud use" type post at the time needed. Also there is the international dimension, I'd have no idea what is use where & the legality. All I'd be able to say is what I use on my wheels now, sorrreeeee.
Well, someone had to.... It was the steamin' mug that made me do it..."Funny, mine doesn't do that......."

Heres a RR 20" that wont fit:
Edited 27th Sept - Just tried these, and they will fit, but need new wheelnuts, and the usualy tyres on them (if off a RR) arent weight rated high enough, usually 255/50x20, 109's, not 111's

ebay wheels help
I have been watching these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...dZViewItem ,correct rolling radius etc Stratstones have a new set and say they physically fit but the load rating of 109 is obviously not enough, but for road use maybe ok ? are the ones i am looking at the same or is there a subtle difference and can i trust strats ? help please and checked that they would fit ,except for the load rating seem fine , i then have a set of 19" ready and waiting for MTRs then i did a quick search on here and found this....

Well for a start, they use a different set of wheel nuts to D3 and RRS, and the cheapest I've seen these are £47 a set off Ebay, and then locking nuts, key etc ontop of that., and I though these also fouled the brake caliper (but not sure about this, but I have a set in the garage, so will try the weekend)
The load rating is the tyre, and I wouldnt use 109s, not even for road use. If you do buy, try fitting some 275/45x20s, as you can get these rated at 114.
