Disco 4 Subwoofer
So, I have a slider for the subwoofer in the display menu, but moving it does nothing. I have to assume I don't have them.
Car is a MY12 HSE. I'd like them if it's possible

That's what I thought, until I had to remove all that trim to take off my rear ladder, and never saw anything. Also, the panel there doesn't have any speaker mesh or similar....
Are these meant to be there? Do all Disco 4's have them, etc?

Put on a track with a nice bass line ..turn it up .....open the lower tailgate ...sit on the wide side ...if you can feel nice vibrating in your nether regions then it's working ...if not then you need a new one ! 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Afternoon chaps...it's been a while
Mrs has collered the D4 so have lost a bit of interest plus the company that shall remain nameless is no more....too much hassle. I'm sure everyone has seen the eBay versions.....steer clear!!
Anyway, I digress.
Had very same issue....the sub "works" but is rubbish. Dealer is making enquiries as to what's changed in 2012 as before that it was banging!!
Will let you know if and when I hear of anything.
Ent....cheers bud, was good to talk, even if I can't understand any if your northern "speech" Welcome "Lola"

I have an old '05 plate D3, the only noticeable bass from the subwoofer is if you are playing music from a high quality audio source - evident from CD's. Most radio stations (non Digital) or some of the music from my iphone have almost no effect on the sub. If I play a CD there's a world of difference. I am no expert but I believe the head unit processes audio at a certain level and if you're using low quality the sub output suffers.16 D4 Landmark

The sub in my MY57 D3 was totally adjustable but the D4 one sounds the same no matter what you do with the level. It's working that's for sure but it's just not adjustable.Club Exped trailer

No shortage of subwoofer action in the MY14 with Meridien system (stereo, not Logic7 in my XS)... but I think I read somewhere that the subwoofer had moved from tailgate to somewhere under the seats... Anyone know?

Location of the Sub-Woofer in a Disco 4

Hi, If you have the Discovery 4 then the sub-woofer is under the drivers seat. You would need to check if its an amplifier problem, or the driver has gone. You have to take the seat out and a panel under the carpet. To confirm that the speaker driver is ok, you can put a small voltage (9v PP3 ) across the terminals, this will move the cone either back or forward depending on which way round you have the battery terminals. Make sure you have disconnected the speaker from its wiring.

I've just fixed the rear tailgate in my D4 (MY12) and the sub is very much in the tailget in mine. I looked under the drivers seat and can't see anything. Is there two subs on a HSE then? Mines an XS, but definately has a sub in the tailgate.

Sub has always been in lower boot trim for D3/D4. CaptainK must either have an after market sub or be mistaken 👍Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Yes you are right, my mistake. It was located there in my Discovery Sport, I remember now. I now have the Disco 4 HSE Lux and I seem to have the same issue. There is definitely no sub. I’ve even tried a test CD that have low frequencies and it not working. I’ll have a look where you have said. Thanks and sorry for giving out the wrong info.
