Good luck buddy let us know how you get on I’m in the same position and need to do it but need to get it though it’s test first but it will defo be my next to do after because I’ve read it can snap the crank if the juddering gets too bad and cause gearbox damage so I’m doing limited miles until it’s done

Yep I’d like to prevent major damage but I don’t have any noticeable juddering yet just the fluctuations of revs between 1700/2000 rpm so I may try to understand if there’s anything else that can cause it and just in case be ready to replace the TC.
I remember I’ve read or seen on YT that solenoids can be a culprit…

Can low transmission fluid cause torque converter shudder?
Causes behind transmission shudder include contaminated transmission fluid, damaged clutches, and insufficient transmission fluid.

I’ve just read that however I’ve just bought the car and when I was looking through the history it had an advisory for a oil leak coming from gearbox area I think I’m tempted to make up a make shift flush system by removing pipes from oil cooler and using gravity and the engine then take the fill plug out and top up to desired level see if the oil leak ever got fixed if not I’ll attack the tc but I think it’s worth it for the price of the oil over the time and price of doing the tc might be 60/80 £ wasted but who knows I might get away with it better than adding dr tranny and masking the problem in my opinion good luck though buddy 👍

I had a fluid change/flush some time ago but it did not make any difference. Off course it definitely make sense to try cheaper options… even investing in a manual pump if is the case.
I’ve bought already a new metal pan with removable oil filter so someday once open I may try and replace the solenoids and seals… I have to study a bit first but I think I’ll go this route and if the issue is still there I’ll try a couple more options before opening the transmission.
I’m with you reg dr tranny. Not a fan unless you’re desperate or don’t care for your car.
Good luck to you mate

A guarantee on any item only has value from an established supplier, with history and genuine satisfied customers. The added concern with something like a TC, is the considerable time and effort required for fitting, and difficulty for a customer to show that the item has failed after proper installation and use. I think a 30 day warranty is worthless.

Think it’s a generic add it says 30 days unless stated then says all tc come with 12 month end of day you get what you pay for yes the 2 years 1 is better but then you could spend £960 and get a brand new one but id say 12 month is enough and tbh you could have 4 years and they would only say it hasn’t been fitted right because we didn’t do it you haven’t serviced it or whatever bs they come up with and main dealers are no better my mate took his wife’s evogue in and they refitted it with 3 bell housing bolts and they were finger tight he had his wife and kids in that car it was only by chance that he saw it when he had it on ramp looking for something else me personally I’d of drove it through there show room window but he did the right thing and never even got an apology

While I agree that a reputable company may give you some peace of mind in my experience you just got to cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Quite few time established companies have done Censored jobs for a lot of money and I get waaay more angry than when a cheap job goes sideways.
My policy now is that unless is open heart surgery I’ll first try to do it myself, I’m quite handy and I like dirt, I love to learn new things and I’m lucky enough to have some spare time now that the kids have left the nest.
