Checking the Brake Pedal Switch
Hi All,
I hope someone can help and answer my question:
How can I check that the brake pedal switch is functioning correctly using the GAPiid tool?
In particular, that it is sending a signal to the Rotary Gear Selection knob to unlock when the brake pedal is depressed. Obviously it is easy to see the brake lights
Having read the excellent posts on here and those linked to on our Aussie friends site, I am reasonably sure that the Rotary dial remains locked due to a dry solder joint or faulty resistor. However, it is an intermittent fault and so would be worth eliminating the Brake Pedal Switch and a source of the intermittent failure. At leats that makes sense in my head
In the meantime a zip tie and, on its way, a replacement gear selector assembly which I am assured is fully working will keep me mobile until my original one is fixed.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

There might be something in "Live Values" but you'll have to look through the modules relative to the RGS and see.
The brake switch is a very cheap part so why not just replace it? In any case, you should always have a spare of in the glove box. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
