| Transmission issue - leave alone or fiddle? |

Hello everyone,
I've been running around in an 06 plate Discovery 3 and everything seems to be good - since I bought it whenever I shift through park to drive, a transmission fault pops up - since it lets me use drive, neutral, reverse and park I didn't touch it and went to get it scanned.
The code that appeared is "Park Input Circuit" with the code "P081C", upon trying to look it up it seems to be the gearshift assembly potentially has corroded/damaged pins at the bottom.
My question is; as I am going on Holiday in a week, should I just leave it alone and drive as usual or should I find the assembly and take it with it incase it does pack up? (Probably an obvious answer)
The main things affected are I can't manually shift gears and when I raise the suspension, I cannot put it back to normal height without driving over X speed. Also the "D" light is always illuminated even with key out and car locked.
Despite this it drives lovely and changes fine in drive mode as expected - I'm not needing to lift suspension so it's fine as is. This is something I'm hoping to sort when I'm back but I don't want to back myself into a corner when trying to fix this a day before we go away!

It requires the full shifter assembly and possibly the short wiring harness that connects to it which goes under the center console, worse case it locks you out completely and possibly engine wont start.

I suspect suspension is seperate issue.

I agree, i didnt have any suspension errors when my shifter was playing up.
Mine got wet in a summer downpour when i left the sunroof open so if you suffered something similar it could have affected the switches.
