Thanks. I’ve also tried using the IID to check oil level. It shows level and volume. Both make little sense to me, but do change depending on how much oil there is in the car.

.Also, Brownie points to whoever designed the way the grille & lights are removable so quickly, without tools Thumbs Up

Be careful what you wish for. There are many on here that have suffered the consequences of this ' feature' and see this as a real negative.

Yeah, fair point, but I live in a very, very dull area, so not much risk here.

Likewise 👍

22 Oct 2024 - the new door mirror glass arrived. Very easy to fit. I took the opportunity to check all the resistances:

Passenger side, this one was flagging an error code, 162.2 ohms:

Driver's side, not flagging an error (yet), 53.7 ohms:

And the new ones, both identical at 12.6 ohms:

Let's see how long they last !

4 Nov 2024 - gradually investigating a P006A-00 error, "Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow correlation", I'm going to have a go at the manifolds. Possibly contentious - I've just ordered a pair via Aliexpress. Due here in 1-2 weeks. The price is very attractive.

17 Nov 24 - I'm not breaking out the champagne yet but I think I'm onto something regarding the Restricted Performance problem. A while back I was looking at the live data and noticed a mismatch in exhaust temperatures, one bank permanently low, but googling told me that is normal as it's not actually the banks that it's measuring, it's the turbos, and the secondary turbo only kicks in under a reasonable load. I thought no more of it.

Today I was able to watch the live data again, with the MAF readings in parallel too, and noticed that even under load the secondary turbo didn't seem to be kicking in - no airflow from the MAF and no temperature increase in the exhaust. But Restricted Performance coming up fairly repeatably. Which seemed odd - obviously this is a problem but shouldn't (to my mind) create an air volume / pressure mismatch. The error is always "Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow correlation".

Google again, and the Compressor Shut Off Valve ("CSOV") is a known issue. This opens & closes to feed or block the secondary turbo. There's a TSB about replacing the actuator. Useful thread here:

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/csov-sticki...63490.html

Excitedly I checked it out.... only to find I already have the updated actuator and my actuator and valve both move freely. Harrumph.

While I was pottering I figured I should check out the MAFs. I unplugged & replugged each in turn while watching the live data and they behaved correctly. I swapped them over and did the same again, still fine.

Then I went for a drive and suddenly the secondary turbo works ! MAF & exhaust temperature readings as expected - nothing from the secondary side while cruising or accelerating gently, but they spring into action when you hoof it. Mostly no errors but it did flag up once, and it was right at the point where the valve opens, just as the MAF reading shot up it triggered.

I think I'll need to remove the whole unit and see if it's a bit gungy inside. Lack of hoof and possibly cheap diesel by previous owners could be the cause.

10 Nov 2024 - I marshalled at the Rushmoor Targa. Here's a photo of my marshalling point. The tailgate makes a perfect place to sit.

Well, the first supplier was a waste of time ! Didn’t send them and I eventually got a refund from Aliexpress. I ordered another pair from another seller on 22 Nov, a few quid cheaper thanks to the ever-changing discount codes and they arrived today. They look OK. Nothing special. I might get around to fitting them over the Christmas break.

For reference Aliexpress charge VAT when you place your order, and I didn’t get charged any import duty at this end. £160.44 all in.
