Help - 08 auto SE Never builds boost

Sorry if this is in the wrong places and mods please move or remove and tell me where I need to post as this is my first post here. I have a 2008 discovery 3 and have run out of places to turn after it being at a specialist for 5 weeks and they still have no idea what is wrong with it.

Went to them originally 4 months ago to have EGRs blanked and coded out, and the timing belt and idlers changed, since then it has built no boost at all, foot all the way to the floor and struggles to get anywhere near 30mph no matter the revs, they said turbo was bad (actuator was stuck but still turbo kicked in at 3000 rpm before they did the EGRs and belt)

Took too long to get back to me for a quote so took it elsewhere for that to be completed but still built no boost and the other garage had no idea why either, not an air leak as not blowing any black smoke.

So far to remedy this problem it’s had

- new turbo
- new MAP sensor
- new MAF sensor
- new intercooler piping
- all wiring relating to MAP sensor checked as is showing 0 for any barometric value

And before anyone asks it is throwing no codes at all related to this, nor is it displaying engine system fault on the screen, just broken parking sensors and a weak air compressor for the suspension and have gone through all the known issues and technical guides ok here to see if I find anything similar (not a sticky actuator as it completes its freeing cycle just fine)

Is there a possibility that the remap to code out the EGRs could have caused this problem or cooked my ECU?

I have run out of places to turn and seem to be the only person in the world with this issue, and anyone help or recommend anyone near Biggleswade/Sandy that can help with this I would be eternally grateful.

If it was remapped instead of having an EGR delete then it does sound like a remap gone wrong. This should be undoable if a copy of the original was saved by the technician.

You do not need a remap to deal with the EGR's as there is a patch available from Bell Auto Services which you can load yourself via the GAP diagnostic tool. Get your tech people to reverse the work they did and then deal with the EGR delete.

The fact that there are no fault codes is a sign that there's something seriously amiss with whatever was done when programming the PCM. Thumbs Up

NB. There has to be a barometric value unless it somehow has been deleted. No barometric value = no boost no matter what you do....ever!!

Be worth unplugging the EGR valves if they haven’t been already, a chap on another forum with a Citroen C6 (same engine) had a very similar issue. Basically boiled down to if the bad EGRs were still plugged in the ECU would sense it and put it in limp mode but with no warning light or stored codes. When the EGRs were disconnected it was fine. Since all EGR fault codes had been wiped out of it there was nothing to go on.

If that doesn’t change anything then it really needs a standard map flashing back on it then start again from there. Baro readings sound very suspicious unless it’s the way the code reader it’s connected to is interpreting things.
